Im Buddhismus glaubt man daran, dass man immer von einem Leben ins nächste geht. Wenn ein Lebewesen stirbt, nimmt es ein neues Leben an. Man nennt dies auch den Kreislauf der Wiedergeburten oder Samsara. Nirwana ist das Ende dieser endlosen Kette von Leben zu Leben und damit das Ende von allem Leid.
